naïve to cultured

with eyes open wide

Hi! My name is Mary Beth. Welcome to my little slice of the web. I’m very happy to have you here!

The title of my site is “naïve to cultured” because that is the best way to sum me up at this point in my life. Do you feel the same way?

I grew up in the southern United States (North Carolina and Georgia) and led a very happy, driven, and semi-perfect life. I was mostly interested in Christianity, professional development and working out. But I wasn’t happy in my little bubble.

I joined the Peace Corps and lived and worked in a small indigenous village in Panamá from 2010-2012. This completely changed my life.

I stayed in Panamá after my service and now I am sharing my current interests with the world through this website.

It’s very important to surround yourself and connect with others who believe in what you believe in and who strive for similar goals. Since Panamá is a small and sometimes lonely place, I created this website to connect with others all over the world who share my same interests.

I encourage healthy discussion through my posts, but please be polite! The internet is a face-less space and it’s sad to see that some people forget that they are still responding to another person, albeit through writing instead of voice.

Thank you again for visiting! Please don’t be shy to say hello!

nooo…. Twitter is too much for me. 🙂 I already feel way too busy to be following people’s thoughts too!

What is your take on Twitter? Why do you like it? Maybe just maybe I can be converted.

What's your opinion?
