Brilliant new technology to clean up oil spills, engineered from Ohio State University! What’s even cooler is that they looked to butterflies as inspiration for their design. Since the wings repel water, the researchers studied how that was possible by looking all the way to the nano level of the cells. Very cool!

Wouldn’t it be nice if there weren’t a need for it, but that’s the world we live in today.
