Japan is a very
strange interesting country. Although it’s women are highly educated, they do not make up a large percentage of the top jobs. Luckily, the Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe, sees the potential in Japanese women and has finally fulfilled his campaign promise to promote women in the workforce.
He named 5 women to his cabinet of 18 persons and they fill the positions of Trade Minister (Yuko Obuchi), Internal Affairs Minister (Sanae Takaichi), Minister in charge of Promoting Women (Haruko Arimura), Minister in charge of Japanese abducted by North Korea (Eriko Yamatani – by the way, WTF to this position??), and Justice Minister (Midori Matsushima).
