Check this out: Egypt Has a Sexual Violence Problem

The horrifying image of a woman being beaten by Egyptian soldiers was circulated around the world in December 2011.

Wow, there are a lot of issues in Egypt right now. One issue that is thankfully gathering a good following is the issue of sexual violence.

There are many points in this article that I had never heard about – one being 91.1% of women ages 15 – 49 had been subjected to genital mutilation (survey from 2008)!!

Needless to say, I enjoyed reading about the problem through the eyes of a woman Egyptian citizen. Please click on the link below to understand better the reality of the situation.
